How to get the transcript of an Instagram Reel
Instagram shows a Reel's words only as captions that pass by with the video, and many Reels have none. Here is how to get the whole Reel as text on your iPhone.

Share the Reel to MarkerShelf
On the Reel, tap the paper-plane icon, then tap Share in the bottom row. The iPhone share sheet opens: tap MarkerShelf in the app row. If it isn't there, tap More at the end of the row.
Or copy the link. Tap Copy link, open MarkerShelf, tap + in your Library and paste it in the Add Video sheet.

Tap Transcript — Generate
Open the Reel in your MarkerShelf library and tap Transcript — Generate, under the video's title and tags. MarkerShelf writes down the audio line by line, with a time on each line. The language is detected for you.

Read it and tap a line to jump
Scroll the transcript at your own pace. The line being spoken is highlighted while the Reel plays, and tapping a line plays the Reel from that second.

Some Reels carry captions, added by the creator or generated by Instagram. They help with the sound off, but they are not something you can read back.
